Prompt: Here are several one-liners used by Paul Zindel. Pick any one of these lines and create a story that closes with that line.

"I forgive you."

"All I had to do was wait long enough."

"Nobody does anything perfectly."

"You could tell her motto was 'When trouble strikes - vanish.'"

"Your problem is you've got too much spare time."

"Because I told you not to, that's why."

With disdain I gazed out the window at the gorgeous June afternoon. Great, I thought bitterly, another day with nothing to do, and summer vacation began not but half a week ago.
My best friend was away at some sort of camp, leaving me alone to face my older sister's constant intrusions into my life, or lack of life. My sister was the preppy, nosey, popular sort of person that gets all A's and the hottest guys for boyfriends, and I hated her for that. Putting on a superior air, she descended upon me as I began to log into one of my fantasy games.
"Whatcha playing?" She squealed in a high pitched voice as she shoved me bodily out of the computer chair and slid herself in. "Ooh, DragonsBane! Sounds like fun."
"Get off my game," I growled at her, dragging myself off the floor.
She just giggled and shook her head, her golden curls bouncing. "No, I want to play."
In agony I watched as my character, Dhrageth the swordsman, fell under control of my sister's inexperience. Dhrageth walked aimlessly in circles until he was ambushed by a few goblins. Normally, I could make short work of such a pathetic battle, but my sister couldn't. She clicked everywhere on the screen wildly until the Game Over message flashed across the screen. Moaning, I lowered my head and vowed revenge on my sister for killing the strongest warrior in the game.
For three long days I plotted my revenge until finally, I reached my solution. It was a simple revenge but would it be fun. The next day, my sister was to have a date with this guy she'd liked since 8th grade. Not wanting anything to go wrong, she had locked herself in her room to primp and make herself drop dead gorgeous. She had no idea I had been in her room first.
The doorbell rang and of course it was him. He looked nervous and stood uneasily in the living room when suddenly a piercing scream came from my sister's room. With an evil grin I retreated to the safety of my chamber, not wanting to see my sister's vibrant blue hair.
I heard my mother from the living room say in a dark tone, "You could tell her motto was 'When trouble strikes - vanish.'"

My Walk In the Forest

I see a beautiful forest looming out in front of me,
The sights I see are beautiful, like that oak tree,
I hear a robin chirping in the tree, warming her eggs,
Concentrating on the path, I regain the feeling in my legs,
The sun shines on my face like a spotlight,
The trees, the animals, everything seems right,
The rustle of the leaves, and the slow wind,
My thoughts and problems, off I fend,
I hear a stream in the distance,
I go to it, seeing fish in existence,
I touch the water, it's cool, and inviting,
What's that, on the horizon shining?
It is a meadow, where baby deer are being fed,
I sneak up to them, sit, and against a rock, I rest my head,
I fall asleep, but wake from my dream,
What I'll say is this, I'll never forget what I've seen.

Mushrooms all around the little fairies.
All the fairies sitting on mushrooms.
Rain pours down as the fairies hide under the mushrooms.
In the trees fairies tuck themselves into bed.
After the rain stops, the fairies play in the sun.

One dark and stormy night a phone call was made to Mr. Clayton, the millionaire. The phone Call was mysterious and evil, threatening murder. Later on that night a pizza was delivered for Clayton's dinner. The pizza was from "Pizza Inn". After he ate he had a few chunks of pizza in his teeth so he went to floss. Once he reached the bathroom he got out his floss and began to floss. A few moments later he dropped dead. . .
The maid named Connie was the one who found him dead with a sucker on his chest. She called the police after a deafening scream and they came to investigate. The police took the floss back to the lab and found out that it had been poisoned with ant poison. They now had the case of death, but who did it?
The police then took the next step to see if he had any incoming calls. They found the death call and traced it back to a phone card. The card was the only link to the murder. Now they snuck into Connie's house and found the calling card on the counter.
They arrested Connie for murder and found out later that her trade mark was to leave a sucker on her victims. She had slipped up once and that was her downfall- they now knew she was responsible for other crimes.

          "Cinderella, darling."
She knew what was coming. It's what she heard every month, every week, almost everyday.
          "I need you."
"What is it this time?" she asked Prince Charming.
"Dad got on me again last night. He said I'm not fulfilling my duties."
She tuned him out after that. It was so boring being queen. She had been swept away by the whole romance of the thing but now all she ever got to do was listen to Charming complain. She would have liked very much to say, "What am I? Your psychologist? Spend some of your royal money and get some professional help. Or better yet- get one of the royal horses to knock your royal head straight!" She would have, but she wasn't completely straight on the laws about beheading queens.
"And he's always lecturing me about keeping the kid in good condition and raised right."
That was another thing. The "kid" had a name. Charming (who was not aptly named) didn't like her just because she was a girl. When Rosemary was born he wouldn't speak to Cinderella for a week, because he thought it was her fault. She was disappointed when he got over it.
That was her whole life. Despising Charming secretly. Enduring everything that he could think of to complain about. Personally, she didn't think a few comforts were worth it, and if she ever saw her fairy godmother again she was ready to give her a kick in the butt and a long talking to.
