MOVIE NIGHT HISTORY
[M.N.]
Movie Night Season One (September 98-June 99)

Movie Night History (As of 6-1-99)

(Big List of Movie Mistakes. Check this out too.)
What is Movie Night you might ask? Well it is something that some
friends of mine and I started a few months ago in protest of the school's
homecoming dance. Basically what this meant is we all went over to Leo's
and sat around, drank lots of pop (preference: Cherry flavored) and
watched a bunch of movies, many of which are B-Horror flicks circa 1980's.

Why would we do this? Boredom, my friends. Being that we are all
stubborn as hell and are not about to go anywhere, we have Movie Night at
least once a week, and often times, more than once a week. And we
ALMOST always have some cherry flavored soda, because it reigns
supreme over the other beverages. Oh, when someone is listed as (.5), it
means they were there half the time or threreabouts.

You must understand, on movie night we hardly pay attention to the
movies unless they look really awesome (a rarity). Mostly, the ideal of
movie night revolves around conversations and making fun of people, you
know, stuff like that. Movie watching does provide nice background noise
and every now and then keeps us entertained, so you see the reasoning
behind watching movies.

Night One: Homecoming Dance night (Saturday). Myself, Ruben, Leo, Elliot, and D found ourselves at Leo and D's house on a lonely Saturday night. the movies of the time were Invasion of the Body Snatchers (origional and remastered), and Return of the Living Dead. This being the first movie night, no rules were established at this time. Therefore, we had three horror movies in one night, which is relatively unheard of. Also, this night D was our serving wench, because no rules were set yet. I believe that the only other time we had a serving wench was on Night #3, when again, it was D. PEOPLE: D(.5), Elliot, Leo, Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 20 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 12 AT: Leo's house MOVIES WATCHED: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (origional and remake), Return of the Living Dead part 1 Night Two: Saturday. This is the most dissapointing of all movie nights, plain and simple. The only participants were myself and Ruben, because we could'nt get ahold of anyone else, I believe. We watched Return of the Living Dead part 2 (pure CRAP) and Mystery Science Theatre 3000 the Movie. PEOPLE: Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 9 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 0!! (Again I stress how sad this one was.) AT: Richard's house MOVIES WATCHED: Return of the Living Dead part 2, MST3K the Movie Night Three: Saturday. A classic! It was me, Ruben, Leo, D, and Carson made his first appearance. We watched Dawn of the Dead (one of the best horror movies ever!) and CB4. We were also back at Leo's house this time, which was cool. PEOPLE: Carson, D, Leo, Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 22 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 11 AT: Leo's house MOVIES WATCHED: Dawn of the Dead, CB4 Night Four: Saturday. Another great movie night. Also the first one to take place at Ruben's house. We watched only two movies, but both were awesome. We watched Dead Alive and Resevoir Dogs. PEOPLE:Carson, Elliot(.5), Leo, Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 19 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 12 AT: Ruben's house MOVIES WATCHED: Dead Alive, Resevoir Dogs Night Five: Friday the 13th (This was also the night Hot Carl was doing a 24-hour marathon thing outside in the cold at the OU gate, which we made an appearance at.) This one was at Leo's house and was very nice. We set the record for number of movies watched in one night (4), though two of them count as .5 in movie terms because they were very short. We watched some English class video, Rendevous With Ragnarok, 4 Rooms, and Friday the 13th part 1. PEOPLE: D, Elliot, Leo, Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 25 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 15 AT: Leo's house MOVIES WATCHED: "English video", Rendevous With Ragnarok, 4 Rooms, Friday the 13th part 1 Night Six: Saturday. A great movie night because we watched The Big Lebowski. We also saw GWAR's appearance on Jerry Springer (pre-taped), and This is Spinal Tap. At Ruben's house, this was the first time we tried Cherry GEM. Also, the last time I think. PEOPLE: Carson, Leo, Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 21 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 11 AT: Ruben's house MOVIES WATCHED: This is Spinal Tap, GWAR on Jerry Springer (pre-taped), The Big Lebowski Night Seven: Saturday(?). Another movie night at Richard's house. Not too shabby; Raising Arizona, the Thing, and Shadow Zone were watched, and alot of pop was drinken for four people. PEOPLE: Carson, Leo, Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 20 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 12 AT: Richard's house MOVIES WATCHED: The Thing, Shadow Zone, Raising Arizona Night Eight: Saturday(?). One of the worst movie nights. A mere three people with appearances by Andreas and Adrian, but they didn't stay for the movies. PEOPLE: Leo, Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 15 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 12 AT: Richard's house MOVIES WATCHED: Rabid Grannies, Bloodfeast Night Nine: Wednesday I think (over X-Mas Break). Much better than the last movie night, and Ruben misses his first one, making Richard the only person to attend every movie night, thus far. Watched 3 awesome movies, so it was pretty good otherwise. And Nick P. made his first appearance in the movie night hall of fame! PEOPLE: Leo, Nick P., Richard CANS OF SODA: 19 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 16 AT: Richard's house MOVIES WATCHED: Day of the Dead, Tromeo and Juliet, Silent Night Deadly Night Night Ten: Sometime shortly after X-Mas (still during X-Mas break). The best movie night to date! Also the first at Carson's, and the first with T there. We tied the record for most movie watched and outpreformed in all categories: soda drunken, ammount cherry, and number of people present (to be topped on night 13). All of the movies were awesome, too. PEOPLE: Carson, Elliot, Leo, Richard, Ruben, T(.5) CANS OF SODA: 35.3 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 24 AT: Carson's house MOVIES WATCHED: Night of the Living Dead (remake), Beodogg(homemade), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Fargo Unofficial Movie Night #1: New Year's Eve/Day. At Jeremy's house. Not counted officially because not everyone was informed about it. Also, no cherry was present. We watched Penn and Teller Get Killed and Clerks. PEOPLE: Carson, Jeremy, Leo, Nick P., Richard, Ruben (several others at various times) CANS OF SODA: very few. Maybe 2 or 3. AMMOUNT CHERRY: 0 AT: Jeremy's house MOVIES WATCHED: Clerks, Penn and Teller Get Killed Night Eleven: A week or so before school was back in because of snow days. A Sunday night, I believe. A pretty impressive movie night, with 5 people and 30 cans of pop. Also, two cool movies to boot. PEOPLE: Carson, Leo, Nick P., Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 30 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 12 AT: Carson's house MOVIES WATCHED: Brain Donors, Body Parts Night Twelve: Monday day and night/Tuesday morning! By far the LONGEST movie night yet. We broke the ammount of movies watched with five. We started at around 3pm on Monday afternoon, broke up at 6, rejoined at 11 WITHOUT Leo, and wathed more movies untill 7am of the next morning. PEOPLE: Leo(.5), Nick P., Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 34.3 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 21.3 AT: Richard's house MOVIES WATCHED: Hudsucker Proxy, The Godfather part 1, Goodfellas, The Hills Have Eyes part 2, Season of the Witch Night Thirteen: Saturday. Not a bad movie night, but not the best. Not a whole lot happend this time around, except the seating was less comfortable. We broke the record for people in attendance however, with 6. PEOPLE: Carson, Jeremy, Leo, Nick P., Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 30 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 18 AT: Jeremy's house MOVIES WATCHED: The Initiation, Barton Fink Night Fourteen: Sunday. A great movie night with an ensemble cast of Richard, Leo, Ruben, D, Carson, and a first appearance by Matt. We tied the person total with 6, and BEAT the cans drunk/ammount cherry; we put those to shame! It was a good night, enjoyed by all, and will hopefully be beaten someday soon. It was first broken on Night Twenty-One. PEOPLE: Carson, D, Leo, Matt, Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 42 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 30 AT: Leo's house MOVIES WATCHED: Starship Troopers, Dirty Work, Miller's Crossing Night Fifteen: Super Bowl Sunday. For reasons beyond our control, Leo and D are in France for a few months, so they will not be able to participate in movie nights. This is a catastropy, but we will work through it. This week it was me, Ruben, Nick P., and newcomers Seth and Neil. We wathed Pirhanas 2, Army of Darkness, and Dead Alive. You may notice that we have watched Dead Alive twice. I heavily protested against it this time around because we could be using that time to watch a different movie and up our tally. After that night a new rule of never watching the same movie twice has been implemented. PEOPLE: Neil, Nick P., Richard, Ruben, Seth CANS OF SODA: 24.35 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 8 AT: Ruben's house MOVIES WATCHED: Pirhanas 2, Army of Darkness, Dead Alive Night Sixteen: Saturday. An above average movie night in that we had two good movies! This one took place at Nick P.'s house for the second time. Ruben was still not allowed to drink pop, so you must note that in the total. Other than that it was pretty good. We watched Dark City and Creepshow 2. PEOPLE: Carson, Nick P., Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 13.8 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 12 AT: Nick P.'s house MOVIES WATCHED: Dark City, Creepshow 2 Night Seventeen: Friday. Ok movie night. First appearance by Nick W. We watched Creepshow 1 and High Strung. Not much else to report. PEOPLE: Carson, Nick P., Nick W., Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 23.45 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 9 AT: Richard's house MOVIES WATCHED: Creepshow 1, High Strung Unofficial Movie Night #2: Friday Night. I can't comment on the success of Friday night because it is my first absence in the history of movie night, but it was later resolved to not be included as an official movie night due to there not being two original members present. Apparently they watched Strange Brew. PEOPLE: Jeremy, Neil, Nick P., Ruben CANS OF SODA: 14 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 6 AT: Jeremy's house MOVIES WATCHED: Strange Brew, Young Ones "Demolition/Bomb/Sick" (0.5) Night Eighteen: Saturday Day/Night. This was a weird one. A few of us got to gether to finish off the movies and soda. We wathed the Young One's "Demolition/Bomb/Sick" and Pirahnas 1. Then later that day, we found Carson uptown and we had another movie night that night. We watched Parents, Empire Records, and The Lost Highway. Also, Ezra T. showed up about halfway through, so he is now in the movie night hall of fame! We also decided to induct Nick P. and Carson as honorary official members, so they will have more pull in movie night goings-on. PEOPLE: Carson (0.5), Ezra T. (0.5), Nick P., Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 32 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 18 AT: Jeremy's House, Ruben's House MOVIES WATCHED: Young Ones "Demolition/Bomb/Sick" (0.5), Pirahnas 1, Parents, Empire Records, The Lost Highway Night Ninteen: Saturday Night. Another interesting movie night with the first appearances of Chris and J. Also the first one at Chris' house, and we watched 3 good movies. PEOPLE: Chris, Ezra T., J, Nick P., Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 23 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 23 AT: Chris' House MOVIES WATCHED: Kentucky Fried Movie, Jacob's Ladder, Cannibal: The Muscial Night Twenty: Saturday Night. Wow what a momentous movie night. This one broke not only the people present achievement (with a total of 7 combined), but it featured our first girl EVER, Emily. And in honor or St. Patrick's Day, we watched The Leprechaun, Goldeneye, and Gummo. PEOPLE: Carson, Chris, Emily (0.5), Jeremy, Nick P., Nick W. (0.5), Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 41.5 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 18 AT: Jeremy's House MOVIES WATCHED: Goldeneye, Gummo, The Leprechaun part 1 Night Twenty-One: Sunday Night over Spring Break. Ok this one started out fucked up, but worked out well in the end. We were gonna have it at Jeremy's house, but Bob kicked us out so we had to have it at Jeremy's old house. We got the movies Leprechaun 3, Akira, Strange Day, and They Live (we did not watch They Live though.) Tons of people were coming in and out throughout the movie, but most did not stay for more than 15 minutes. We also broke the pop record that night. I have only listed the ones who stayed for at least one movie. But nonetheless, we put the people total to shame with a (combined) number of 13.5 (17 total people however.) PEOPLE: Carl (0.5), Carson, Chris, Dawna (0.5), Elliot (0.5), Jeremy, Jesse, Justin (0.5), Neil (0.5), Nick P., Phil (0.5), Richard, Ruben, Ted, Tedd (0.5), Wells (0.5), Zeb (0.5) CANS OF SODA: 45!!! AMMOUNT CHERRY: 24 AT: Jeremy's Old House MOVIES WATCHED: Akira, The Leprechaun 3, Strange Day Night Twenty-Two: Wednesday night over Spring Break. This one was weird cause we were going to have several other people, but they decided it would be more fun to go and drink alcohol instead. Thus, it was just me, Ruben, and Nick P. Due to this and the fact that I was really angered by the whole situation, we decided to break the ammount of cherry drunken record. And we watched 3.5 movies. PEOPLE: Nick P., Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 31 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 31 AT: Ruben's House MOVIES WATCHED: Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Dinking Your Juice In The Hood, Halloween 1, Destroy All Monsters, "School Movies" (0.5) Unofficial Movie Night #3: Friday night. This was at Chris' house and we made it unofficial because we watched some movies we'd already seen. We saw Kentucky Fried Movie, Cannibal: The Musical, and Maximum Overdrive. PEOPLE: Abi, Chris, Ezra, J, Nick W., Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 13 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 0 AT: Chris' House MOVIES WATCHED: Kentucky Fried Movie, Cannibal: The Musical, Maximum Overdrive Night Twenty-Three: Saturday night. At Jeremy's house, not too bad. We watched Blade, April Fools, and Class of Nuke 'Em High. PEOPLE: Abi (0.5), Chris, Jeremy, Nick P., Nick W., Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 26 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 12 AT: Jeremy's House MOVIES WATCHED: Blade, April Fool's Day, Class of Nuke 'Em High Night Twenty-Four: Saturday night. I've been getting pretty lazy about adding to the movie night site, so sorry about that. That night we watched 3 movies, had it at Leo's house for the first time in months, and broke the cherry record. PEOPLE: Carson, D, Jeremy, Leo, Nick P., Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 34.5 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 32!!! AT: Leo's House MOVIES WATCHED: Wrath of the Ninja, Blood Simple, Scanners Night Twenty-Five: Friday Night. This was the first one we had at Nick W.'s house. Not too bad overall, in fact it was pretty interesting. We watched 4 movies. Also the first one with Pine there. PEOPLE: Abi, Carson (0.5), Chris, Ezra T., Leo, Pine, Neil (0.5), Nick W., Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 41 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 24 AT: Nick W.'s House MOVIES WATCHED: Slingblade, Kids, Strange Land, Pi Night Twenty-Six: Friday Night. OK. Not too bad, way too many damn interruptions though. That part bit. We watched 4 movies.....you get the idea. Hopefully the next one will be alittlebit more exciting. PEOPLE: Chris, Erica, J, Jamie, Jeremy (0.5), Nick P., Nick W. (0.5), Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 41 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 22 AT: Chris' House MOVIES WATCHED: Fist of the North Star (Live), Mikey, I'm Gonna Git You Sucka!, Johnny Mnemonic Night Twenty-Seven: Friday Night. Though I hate to admit it, Movie Nights are starting to bore me. It seems like it's turning into a party instead of a small gathering. Movie night is supposed to be the anti-party. Added to the fact that I get annoyed increasingly easy nowadays, any interruption is really threatening to my psyche. Anyway, enough rambling about my damn mind. We watched 3 movies that night and had it at Pine's house. PEOPLE: Chris, Ezra, Jamie, Pine, Nick P., Richard, Ruben CANS OF SODA: 26.5 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 20 AT: Pine's House MOVIES WATCHED: Blade Runner: The Directors Cut, Street Fight, The Return of Spinal Tap Night Twenty-Eight: Saturday Night, the way it should be. A very gos movie night and we are finally working on getting it back to a small group. It's easier to make fun of people when there are few of you there to begin with. We only had time to watch 2 movies because Leo had to be home at 12am, but thats ok. PEOPLE: Leo, Richard, Ruben, Zeb CANS OF SODA: 27 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 4 AT: Richard's House MOVIES WATCHED: Prom Night, Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome Night Twenty-Nine: Friday Night, the day before Prom. Me, Leo, and Carson were originally going to go see Star Wars: Episode 1 again, but by the time we got to the theatre it had already started. We decided to have a small movie night instead. We watched Happiness and Friday The 13th Part 2. PEOPLE: Carson (0.5), Leo, Richard CANS OF SODA: 14 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 2 AT: Richard's House MOVIES WATCHED: Happiness, Friday the 13th Part 2 Night Thirty: Saturday Night. Me, Nick P., Ruben, Zeb, and Emily went over to my house to do this. It was good, and it's almost summer. We watched Orgazmo!, Ice Pirates, and Chopping Mall. PEOPLE: Emily, Nick P., Richard, Ruben, Zeb CANS OF SODA: 31 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 14 AT: Richard's House MOVIES WATCHED: Orgazmo!, Ice Pirates, Chopping Mall Night Thirty-One: Sunday Night before Memorial Day. What was a two man group evolved into a 7 person bonanza by the end of the movies. Me and Zeb started it off, then Nick P., Molly, Erin, Johnny, and Katie rolled in. Then Molly, Johnny, and Erin left and Carson made his way in. Lastly, Chris and J got in on the action. PEOPLE: Carson, Chris, Erin (0.5), Johnny (0.5), Katie, Molly (0.5), Nick P., Richard, Zeb CANS OF SODA: 25 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 6 AT: Richard's House MOVIES WATCHED: Sleepaway Camp 3: Teenage Wasteland, The Blob, You've Got Mail! Night Thirty-Two: Tuesday Day. Who knows. I wasn't told about it through no fault of my own. PEOPLE: D, Leo, Nick P., Ruben CANS OF SODA: 12 AMMOUNT CHERRY: 6 AT: Leo's House MOVIES WATCHED: Hellraiser
